Caitlyn Jenner has a brand new TV gig as a contestant on the reality competition show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! It was announced in November that Jenner was part of the lineup appearing in the jungle, but this isn’t her first time doing the series.
The former Olympian, who was previously married to Kris Jenner, participated in the U.S. version back in 2003. Her payday now is much larger than it was back then, and she is pulling down more than any other star on the show. Here’s what Jenner is making, plus how much she was paid for Keeping Up with the Kardashians and what her net worth is today.
Caitlyn Jenner takes home massive paychecks for ‘I’m a Celebrity,’ ‘KUWTK’
During the promotion of I’m a Celebrity, Jenner was asked who would be her ideal campmate.
“Kanye West is a good friend of mine and he’s good to have an intelligent and interesting conversation with,” she said, according to Radio Times.
The reality star also talked about her previous experience on the show and why she decided to do it again.
“It was a very interesting experience last time I did it,” Jenner recalled. “Being in the jungle is certainly not easy and yes, it is totally back to basics but I thought this would be a great opportunity to leave everything behind for three weeks. Last time, it was almost like a cleansing of the soul!”
And the cash she’s getting can’t hurt either. Jenner is reportedly raking in around $640,000 for her stint on the show. However, that’s not much compared to what she made over the years on KUWTK.
It’s not known exactly how much the family earned in the very early days of the series, which started in 2007. But according to TMZ, in 2012 the KarJenner clan got $40 million to renew the program. They were reportedly all paid equally and inked a deal doubling that figure a few years later. So Jenner received a nice share.
Caitlyn Jenner’s net worth comes from more than reality Tv
Jenner made a name for herself long before she started doing reality TV.
In 1976, Jenner competed in the Olympic Games in Montreal and won the gold medal in the decathlon. The athlete chose to retire from the sport right after winning the event, explaining that “I had to give up too much to get there, life-wise. I knew it was the last hurrah.”
Jenner then signed an endorsement deal with the cereal brand Wheaties and had a brief career as a race car driver in the ’80s. She was also in the TV movies The Golden Moment: An Olympic Love Story and Grambling’s White Tiger before jumping into reality TV.
After she stopped appearing on KUWTK, Jenner starred in her own reality series titled I Am Cait, which ran for two seasons.
These days Jenner has a whopping fortune of $100 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
