Hannah Brown and Demi Burnett have been the epitome of friendship goals since they met on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. The two have supported one another through every adventure, from Brown’s time on The Bachelorette and Dancing With the Stars to Burnett’s engagement to Kristian Haggerty on Bachelor in Paradise. And now, after Burnett and Haggerty split, it seems Brown is standing behind her Bachelor Nation bestie, even to the press.
Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty break up after ‘Bachelor in Paradise’
Burnett and Haggerty got engaged in the Bachelor in Paradise Season 6 finale. However, things didn’t work out. On Oct. 31, Burnett and Haggerty released a joint statement on their Instagram accounts to announce their split. They wrote:
What has always been at the forefront of our relationship is love and care for one another. Our priority is doing what is best for us. With a heavy heart full of love for one another we have decided it is best for us to take a step back from our relationship. We ultimately want what is best for us in the long run and for us right now, that means being apart and growing individually.
We have felt so much love and support from you all as you’ve followed our journey together and for that we are grateful. We will forever be proud of the impact our love story has made and we hope it has helped others feel more accepted and confident within themselves. We hope it reminded others they aren’t alone and don’t need to be ashamed of who they are.
And we hope it shows that two people can love one another in different ways and for us right now that is apart. But we remain committed to encouraging each other, supporting each other and continuing forward in a way best for us.
Hannah Brown explains how her Bachelor Nation BFF, Demi Burnett, is doing after Kristian Haggerty split
On the same day as the public breakup announcement, Burnett admitted she needed a break from social media.
“I’m not okay today and I’m going to take a break from social,” she wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to everyone who is reaching out xx”
Nevertheless, it seems Burnett is doing much better a month after the split from Haggerty, according to an interview with Brown on Nov. 26.
“She is doing great. She is also adjusting to this new life,” Brown told Variety about Burnett. “We both moved to LA recently. I’m proud of whatever makes Demi happy and I’ll support her through that. I’m just supporting her now and hoping that she finds whatever makes her happy.”
Following Burnett’s announcement on Instagram in October 2019, Brown told People she was “so proud” of Burnett for “being honest and making choices that are right for her at this time.”
Brown is also cheering Burnett’s future on. “I can’t wait to see what’s next for her,” she said.
Meanwhile, The Bachelorette alum made it clear both she and Burnett will always be there for each other — no matter the circumstances.
“I’ve been so lucky to have so many friends and family support me each week [on Dancing With the Stars],” Brown said. “Our dynamic is perfect. I think we are the craziest mess of friends, but it works. We’ve both been through a lot — I think it’s just knowing that we’re going to be there. Whether we agree or disagree, we are always going to have each other’s back through anything.”
