Premier League Match week 4 Preview

Four teams come into Match week 4 with perfect records with Leicester leading the way after a comprehensive victory over Manchester City in match week 3. Two of the teams with 100% records meet as Aston Villa host Liverpool, We take a look at all the fixtures to be played this weekend.


Chelsea vs Crystal Palace – Saturday 3rd October, 12:30pm

Three games and there is already early pressure on Frank Lampard and Chelsea, The Blues come into this tie with 4 points having not won since Matchweek 1 and need a win as they try to climb up the table. Crystal Palace narrowly lost last week to Everton and will be rearing to go again as they try to maintain their impressive start to the season. Chelsea hold the better of the head to head between both sides winning 14 of the last 18 games.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Crystal Palace

Everton vs Brighton & Hove Albion – Saturday 3rd October, 3:00pm

Everton are flying high at the start of this season winning 3 out of 3 in the Premier League so far this season and they will want to continue in that form against Brighton on Saturday. Brighton come into this game with 3 points from 3 games, The Seagulls will think of themselves as unlucky so far this term with their performances not yielding the results they have deserved. Brighton are unbeaten in their last eight away games in the Premier League but they have never won away at Everton in all competitions.

Prediction: Everton 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion

Leeds United vs Manchester City – Saturday 3rd October, 5:30pm

Leeds are currently enjoying life in the Premier League winning 2 out of their 3 games so far this season, Man City were beaten 5-2 at home to Leicester City last week and have signed Rubén Dias from Benfica during the week as they look to shore up their defense against a Leeds side who have started the season playing exciting attacking football. Pep Guardiola has the better of the head to head against Marcelo Biesla winning 2 and drawing one of their 4 clashes.

Prediction: Leeds United 1-3 Manchester City

Newcastle United vs Burnley – Saturday 3rd October, 8:00pm

Newcastle will be looking to pick their first home points of the season as they host Burnley at St James Park, The Magpies have picked up 4 points so far from their first 3 games. Burnley are one of three teams yet to pick up a point in the league so far this term having lost their first two matches but will see this as a chance to pick up their first points of the season. Newcastle are unbeaten in their seven home league games against Burnley winning 3 and drawing 4.

Prediction: Newcastle United 1-1 Burnley

Southampton vs West Bromwich Albion – Sunday 4th October, 12:00pm

Southampton got their first points of the season last week following their 1-0 away win at Burnley and will be looking to get their first home points of the season against newly promoted West Brom. West Brom picked up their first point following last week 3-3 draw against Chelsea but that result will feel like a loss as they threw away a 3 goal lead in that tie and they will give themselves a chance of taking all three points against a Saints team that haven’t done well at home in recent seasons.

Prediction: Southampton 2-1 West Bromwich Albion

Leicester City vs West Ham United – Sunday 4th October, 12:00pm

Three wins out of three,12 goals scored and top of the league, The 2016 Premier League champions have started this campaign on a high and will want to continue that form against a resurgent West Ham side. West Ham got their first win of their season last week with a surprising 4-0 win against Wolves and will want to continue in their vein as they visit the Kingpower. Leicester City have lost just once in their last 11 matches against West Ham winning 6 and drawing once.

Prediction: Leicester City 3-1 West ham

Arsenal vs Sheffield United – Sunday 4th October, 2:00pm

Arsenal lost their perfect start to the season last week away at champions Liverpool and will fancy themselves at home to pick up

all three against Sheffield United. Sheffield United have lost their first three games of the league campaign and are the only team yet to score a goal in the league this season. Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 40 home league games against teams starting that day in the relegation zone winning 38 and drawing 2 of those ties.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Sheffield United

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Fulham – Sunday 4th October, 2:00pm

Wolves were soundly beaten away at West Ham last week and will fancy themselves to bounce back against a struggling Fulham side. Fulham are already being heavily tipped as early relegation favourites after their poor start in which they have lost all their games and have conceded a minimum of 3 goals in all their matches so far.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur – Sunday 4th October, 4:30pm

Manchester United got their first win of the season in controversial fashion against Brighton last week and will hope that the win will serve as a springboard as they start a daunting run of games. Since that opening day defeat against Everton, Tottenham have improved drastically both on the field and in the transfer window and they will want a statement result at Old Trafford as they aim to get back into the top 4.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Tottenham

Aston Villa vs Liverpool – Sunday 4th October, 7:15pm

Aston Villa have started the season in good form winning their opening two games so far and they will want to keep the momentum going as they welcome the champions to Villa Park on Sunday. Liverpool have started this season the way they started the last one, by winning games. It is just early days but the Reds have already beaten Chelsea and Arsenal and are already looking formidable as they attempt to retain their trophy. Liverpool have lost just one of their last 19 away games against Aston Villa, winning 13 and drawing 5.

Prediction: Aston Villa 1-2 Liverpool
