Kim Kardashian West thrives on routine.
As her Instagram followers already know, the founder of KKW Beauty and Skims regularly posts to her Instagram Stories about being in the gym in the wee hours of the morning before she starts her workday. Thanks to a Nov. 2019 interview she did on the Australian morning show, Sunrise, we now know the rest of Kardashian West’s day is just as regimented.
She goes ‘to bed when the kids go to bed’
When asked how she balances her work and family life, Kardashian West revealed she has a schedule and sticks to it, according to People. And it means having her head hit the pillow not long after her kids do.
and family life, Kardashian West revealed she has a schedule and sticks to it, according to People. And it means having her head hit the pillow not long after her kids do.
“I go to bed when the kids go to bed,” she said.
The star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians said she doesn’t wind down with a glass of wine either. And unlike the early days of her career when she frequented the hottest nightclubs with Paris Hilton, she has a self-imposed early curfew.
“I don’t drink, I don’t stay out late at night,” Kardashian West said. “So I think that really does help.”
The mogul and her husband of five years, rapper and Yeezy designer, Kanye West, have four children together; North, 6, Saint, 3, Chicago,1, and Psalm, 6 months.
Kanye West doesn’t ‘like going out at nighttime’
Kardashian West and her husband are on the same page about spending their evenings out: they’d both rather not. On Oct. 28, 2019, West appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden during a special segment of “Carpool Karaoke” deemed “Airpool Karaoke” where he said he prefers to spend the later hours of the day at home.
“I don’t like going out at nighttime,” West said. “I like being at home with my family at night as much as possible. We’ll eat dinner and we’ll play with the kids, and then we’ll put the kids to bed and then we go to bed,” he said referring to himself and Kardashian West.
He also revealed that his wife watches Dateline before she goes to bed.
‘Being organized is key’ to making schedule work
As parents know, spontaneity often goes out the window in favor of set bedtimes and school schedules. Kardashian West knows that all too well. Her day runs like clockwork.
“I just micromanage my day,” she said. “I know every day I wake up at a specific time and I have my schedule set in stone and I really don’t like to veer off of that, because it’s so planned out and with four kids, you just have to be so organized.”
“So being organized is key,” she added.
Just weeks apart in Nov. 2019, 39-year-old Kardashian West launched a new fragrance and debuted a makeup collection with her longtime makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic.
On top of her fragrance line, makeup brand, shapewear, and every other project Kardashian West has going on, she’s studying to become a lawyer.
“It really is extremely time-consuming,” she explained before adding that she has times where she thinks she can’t do everything.“There are times when I just think that I can’t handle it all, but then I just take a minute to myself and really re-focus. There’s no cutting corners.”
The aspiring lawyer has to “study 18 hours a week” and that means she often spends her weekends and evenings studying.
Having a strict schedule isn’t the only thing Kardashian West has done to remain focused on her work, family, and studies. She revealed in a Nov. 2019 conversation with the beauty site, Byrdie, that she changed her contact information to “set a boundary.” Talk about dedication.
