Doctor Who has released the trailer for season 12 of the beloved sci-fi show. In this trailer, Jodie Whittaker stars as the Thirteenth Doctor, joined by her companions Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole), Graham O’Brien (Bradley Walsh), and Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill). The group is definitely familiar with danger, having faced many foes together. However, season 12 might test them.
The trailer shows the Doctor and her companions facing many alien monsters. Of course, The Doctor always has a plan, sort of. Yet something is coming. Find out who it’s coming for, ahead.
What happens in the ‘Doctor Who’ season 12 trailer?
The trailer for season 12 of Doctor Who starts off with the Thirteenth Doctor and her friends dressed in James Bondesque tuxedoes. “The name’s Doctor, The Doctor,” she says, similar to the spy’s iconic method of introduction. The mood quickly changes, however, with guest star Stephen Fry saying that “the security of this entire planet is at stake.” So, just a normal day for the Doctor then.
The Doctor is then shown in her tuxedo stuck in quite a small space, saying “I’m not where I wanted to be, but I can work with this.” The Doctor is used to getting out of difficult situations, and no doubt will figure something out. A spaceship is shown taking off, the Doctor says “whoa” and a Judoon is shown wearing a helmet. In fact, the trailer shows several aliens and seems to suggest that season 12 may be more action-packed than season 11.
“I don’t suppose you’ve seen anything weird around here,” the Doctor asks someone, summing up the show in one sentence. Doctor Who is certainly full of weirdness. And fans most likely wouldn’t have it any other way.
What else happens in the ‘Doctor Who’ season 12 trailer?
“Do you believe this is alien?” a man with a mustache asks The Doctor, again summing up the show in a sentence. Doctor Who is full of aliens and disbelieving humans. Yasmin Khan, more commonly known as Yaz, is then shown getting chased by an alien while wearing an old-fashioned costume.
Yaz then asks the Doctor, “what’s the plan?” The thing about the Doctor is, she doesn’t always have one. The trailer then cuts to a scene with the Doctor asking, “you trust me, don’t you?” After that, Ryan is shown screaming and Graham asks “have I got to answer that?”
The Doctor is then shown in Paris in 1943. She says, “oh, no,” and suddenly the mood of the trailer grows darker. Something seems about to happen. Something is coming.
Who is it coming for?
“Something’s coming for me, I can feel it,” The Doctor says. A shot of a Cyberman is shown. Are they the thing that’s coming for the Doctor? Maybe, but then again maybe not.
The trailer probably wouldn’t give that away. After the Doctor says that something’s coming for her and the Cyberman is shown, Ryan says “Let it come,” to which Yaz adds, “cause we’re your mates,” and Graham says “family.” Something is then shown trying to get into the TARDIS, which will probably make for an interesting show. The TARDIS is where the Doctor and her companions — and the audience as well — feel the safest, so to have that change will be intriguing.
Whatever is coming for the Doctor, she has her friends to back her up. And it will most likely make for an interesting journey for the fans. The Doctor Who season 12 trailer probably made many people excited for the upcoming season of the show. We are certainly looking forward to it.
